About Globle Unlimited
Globle Unlimited is a free, browser-based geography game where you guess a hidden mystery country on a 3D globe — for as many rounds as you like. We built it for everyone who finished the daily Globle and immediately wanted to play again.
Why we built Globle Unlimited
The original Globle is a brilliant daily ritual, but a daily game gives you exactly one puzzle and then asks you to wait until tomorrow. For people learning the world map — students, travellers, trivia fans, or anyone who just loves geography — one round a day is not enough. We wanted a version you could keep playing: round after round, country after country, until the map lives in your head. That is the whole idea behind the unlimited mode.
Everything on the site is designed around that goal. The interactive globe uses real satellite imagery so the world looks like the world. Guesses are scored by genuine great-circle distance, not a rough approximation. And the strategy guides exist to help you actually improve, not just play.
Who makes it
Globle Unlimited is built and maintained by a small, independent team of geography and web-game enthusiasts. We are players first: we test every change against real rounds, tune the difficulty by feel, and read the feedback that lands in our inbox. We are not a large studio, which means the game stays focused, fast, and free of clutter.
The data behind the game
Accuracy matters in a geography game, so we use trusted, openly licensed sources:
- Country borders come from Natural Earth, a public-domain map dataset maintained by the cartographic community.
- Globe imagery is based on NASA’s Visible Earth / Blue Marble, also in the public domain.
- Country metadata (names, regions and coordinates) is derived from open datasets and refined for gameplay.
Distances are calculated using the haversine formula on each country’s centre point, so the colour you see reflects real geographic proximity.
Our relationship to the official Globle
We love the original game, and we want to be completely clear about who we are. Globle Unlimited is an independent, fan-made project and is not affiliated with or endorsed by the official Globle game by Trainwreck Labs. We are a fan-made tribute and an independent project. All trademarks belong to their respective owners.
How the game works
When a round starts, the game selects a mystery country. Each time you guess, we measure the great-circle distance between your guess and the answer and translate it into a colour: pale yellow when you are far away, deepening through orange to red as you close in. The daily challenge uses a shared date seed so the whole world hunts the same country, while practice mode lets you warm up without affecting your streak. If you ever want to see how the scoring and colours fit together, our how-to-play guide walks through it step by step.
What we value
- Fast and free. The game should load instantly and never ask for money or an account to play.
- Accurate. Borders, distances and answers come from trusted open data, not guesswork.
- Private. Your progress stays on your device. We collect as little as possible.
- Honest. We say plainly that we are an independent project, and we credit every data source we use.
Accessibility
We want everyone to be able to play. Guess results show the distance in kilometres alongside the colour, so the game is playable without relying on colour alone. We support keyboard input, respect your system’s reduced-motion setting, and announce guess results to screen readers. If you hit an accessibility barrier, please tell us — it helps us fix it.
What’s next
We are actively improving Globle Unlimited. A dedicated Capitals mode is in development, and we are always refining difficulty, performance and the strategy content on our blog. The best way to shape what comes next is to play and tell us what you think.
Free, private, and player-friendly
The game is free to play and requires no account. Your stats and streaks are stored privately in your own browser — not on our servers. You can read exactly what we do and do not collect in our Privacy Policy, and the rules of use in our Terms of Service.
